Last week of the 1st Semester

MONDAY
Students will complete the study guide Powerpoint. Final projects will be handed in, and graded. All projects must be in by Wed. Day 1 review will be completed.

TUESDAY

Students will complete the study guide Powerpoint. Final projects will be handed in, and graded. All projects must be in by Wed. Day 3 review will be completed..

WEDNESDAY

Students will complete the study guide Powerpoint. Final projects will be handed in, and graded. All projects must be in by Wed. Day 3 review will be completed.

THURSDAY

1st and 2nd Block will be given final exam.

3rd and 4th Block will be given final exam.

Week of 12/9/13 to 12/13/13

MONDAY

Students will be placed in collaborative groups. Each group will create a design for the final exam review.  Iron-on transfer project is the shirt printing for IGD. Career activities for career booklet will continue for all classes. Each class will create the booklet using InDesign-magazine style.

TUESDAY

Student will prepare screens for printing. Each one will translate the idea to the computer. Iron-on transfer project is underway. Each student will design for their transfer, and print the idea in reverse. Career activities for career booklet will continue for all classes. Each class will create a booklet using InDesign-magazine style.

WEDNESDAY

Collaborative groups will create a review powerpoint. Each group will present their idea to the teacher. Iron-on transfer project is underway. Each student will design for their transfer, and print the idea in reverse. Transfer will be pressed on the shirt using a heat press. Career activities for career booklet will continue for all classes. Each class will create the booklet using InDesign-magazine style.

THURSDAY

Students will  continue to expose screens for printing. Each student will print their idea to the t-shirt Iron-on transfer project is underway. Each student will design for their transfer, and print the idea in reverse. FRIDAY

Each Student will print the t-shirt and dry it to cure the ink.  Iron-on transfer and screen printing projects continue. Career activities for career booklet will continue.

Week of 12/2/13 to 12/6/13

MONDAY
Career booklet pages will be completed. These pages are about the following:

Student's strengths
Student's education
Student's interpersonal skills
Student's academic skills
Student's Adobe / design skills
Student's ability to work on a team
Students will get a booklet making demo on finishing and binding. Iron-on transfer and screen printing projects continue


TUESDAY
Students write a resume and a cover letter. Students create a reference page which includes at least three references. Comb binding demo will show students how to bind their career booklet. Iron-on transfer and screen printing projects continue


WEDNESDAY
We have a guest speaker to coincide with the Career unit. A representative from the Art Institute of Atlanta will be speaking to to all graphic design students. In addition, he will talk about & review portfolios. He will offer tips and information on post-secondary opportuinties in many different creative creative fields.


THURSDAY
Students continue the pages of their career booklet. All sheets are prepared and bound together, including cover page and protective cover. Iron-on transfer and screen-printing projects continue.


FRIDAY
Final Project is introduced. Students will select a project from the ones completed this semester. After they select the project, they will plan and sketch their ideas for the project. Students will complete the project as part of their final (performance) assessment for the course.

Week of 11/18/13 to 11/21/13

MONDAY
Screen printing continues for GDP students. Students finish marketing products, advertisements and presentations. Iron-on transfer process will be introduced. Students begin work on ideas for Iron on transfer process. Career Cruizer follow up activity related to careers in graphic design. CTAE Fantasy show signs are in production to be installed on Thursday 11/21/13. Selected Screen printing projects are ongoing as students / groups take their turns.

TUESDAY
Graphic Design article reading activity. Design students complete cover page ideas for career booklet. Students research careers in the design field. Students complete career inventory to see where their career interests lie. Screen printing continues for GDP students. Students finish marketing products, advertisements and presentations. CTAE Fantasy show signs are in production to be installed on Thursday 11/21/13. Selected Screen printing projects are ongoing as students / groups take their turns.

WEDNESDAY

Each group will research the selected designer and complete a multi-media presentation on the designer. Iron-on transfer and screen printing projects continue. Career activities for career booklet will continue.CTAE Fantasy show signs are taken down and cleaned up. Selected Screen printing projects are ongoing as students / groups take their turns.

Week of 11/11/13 to 11/15/13

MONDAY
Screen printing continues for GDP students. Students finish marketing products, advertisements and presentations. Iron-on transfer process will be introduced. Students begin work on ideas for Iron on transfer process. Guest speaker follow up activity related to careers in graphic design. CTAE Fantasy show signs are in production to be installed on Thursday 11/21/13. Screen coating will continue as needed, as the students coat screens for their project. Marketing and product / package design continues on the computer. Students may select an Adobe application program like Illustrator to complete the marketing for their original drink/product. GDP students begin marketing for an original cereal marketing project. CTAE Fantasy show signs are in production to be installed on Thursday 11/21/13.
