Week of 5/20/13 to 5/23/13



MONDAY:
Students will complete all on-going projects, including the booklet, T-shirt and any other outstanding projects. Any projects that are handed in after Monday will be considered late.

TUESDAY:
Students will review for the Final Exam by completing the study guide. IGD students will view a video about screen printing, and answer follow-up questions. Students with completed study guides will get 10 bonus points.


WEDNESDAY:
Students will take Final Exams in 1st and 2nd block. A puzzle will be offered for 10 bonus points on the exam. Puzzles must be completed during the exam period.


THURSDAY:
Students will take Final Exams in 3rd and 4th block. A puzzle will be offered for 10 bonus points on the exam. Puzzles must be completed during the exam period. Best of Luck to the Class of 2013. Graduation 7:00 at Roswell Baptist Church.

Week of 5/13 to 5/517

MONDAY
Collaborative groups will expose screens for printing. Each group will print their idea to the plastic carrier. Iron-on transfer project is underway. Each student will design for their transfer, and print the idea in reverse. Transfer will be pressed on the shirt using a heat press. Career activities for career booklet will continue for all classes. ADV class will create their booklet using InDesign-magazine style.

Week of 5/6/13 to 5/10/13


MONDAY
Students will be placed in collaborative groups. Each group will create a design for screen printing for GDP class.  Iron-on transfer project is the shirt printing for IGD. Career activities for career booklet will continue for all classes. ADV class will create their booklet using InDesign-magazine style.

Each student will design for their transfer, and print the idea in reverse. Career activities for career booklet will continue for all classes. ADV class will create their booklet using InDesign-magazine style.

  • Student's academic skills
  • Student's Adobe / design skills
  • Student's ability to work on a team
Students will get a booklet making demo on finishing and binding. Iron-on transfer and screen printing projects continue.

Students in IGD classes will complete activities on career vocabulary and explore graphic designer's role in the AD agency. Iron-on transfer and screen printing projects continue.


WEDNESDAY
Students in IGD classes will complete activities on career paths and explore graphic designer's role in the AD agency. Iron-on transfer and screen printing projects continue. 

THURSDAY
Students will be placed in collaborative groups. Each group will be given a famous graphic designer. Each group will research the selected designer and complete a multi-media presentation on the designer. Iron-on transfer and screen printing projects continue. Career activities for career booklet will continue.
 
FRIDAY
Each group will complete and present presentation on selected designer.  Iron-on transfer and screen printing projects continue. Career activities for career booklet will continue.

Week of 4/22/13 to 4/26/13

MONDAY
Screen printing continues for GDP students. Students finish presenting marketing products, advertisements and presentations to the instructor for credit. Iron-on transfer process will be introduced. Students begin work on ideas for Iron on transfer process. All graphic design students begin to work on careers in the design field project.


TUESDAY
Career article reading activity. Design students complete cover page ideas for career booklet. Students research careers in the design field. Students complete career inventory to see where their career interests lie. Screen printing continues, and students critique completed projects with written questions and answers.

WEDNESDAY

Week of 4/15/13 to 4/19/13

MONDAY
Elements of design will be applied to various projects. Color and the color wheel theories will be applied in depth.  GDP students will create a "Spot" color for screen printed T-shirt. Marketing project is ongoing: IGD-Market a drink, GDP-Market a product or service, AGD-Create a personal "Brand".


TUESDAY
Graphic design standards activity will be completed. Screen coating will continue as needed, as the students coat screens for their project. Marketing and product / package design continues on the computer. Students may select an Adobe application program like Illustrator to complete the marketing for their original drink/product. Common Assessment is returned and reviewed.




WEDNESDAY
Marketing analysis and marketing plans are due on today. Screen coating will continue as needed, as the students coat screens for their project. GDP students begin to sketch for the cereal box project.  Marketing and product / package design continues on the computer. IGD Students may select an Adobe application program like Illustrator to complete the marketing for their original drink. Accelerated students can create more than one product. Struggling students will be given a template to aid with the creation of their product.

THURSDAY
 
Screen exposure and printing will happen as needed, as the students expose and print screens for their project. GDP students complete an extensive market analysis for their product/package design.  Marketing and product / package design continues on the computer. IGD Students may select an Adobe application program like Illustrator to complete the marketing for their original drink. Accelerated students can create more than one product. Struggling students will be given a template to aid with the creation of their product.


FRIDAY

MONDAY
Screen coating will continue as needed, as the students coat screens for their project. Marketing and product / package design continues on the computer. Students may select an Adobe application program like Illustrator to complete the marketing for their original drink/product. GDP students begin marketing for an original cereal marketing project. CTAE show  take down. Students will also serve as an authentic audience for the performance. They will complete a survey about their experience with the CTAE show
