Week of 11-3-14 to 11-7-14

MONDAY:

AAVTC-GDP-10 Demonstrate knowledge of file management and file formats and digital file preparation.

The specific file format we are covering is known as the animated GIF. GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format. Compuserve originally created the file format. GIFs were an easy way to present image data for slower connections (such as dial-up) because they limited file size via compression and fixed color palettes. Animated GIFs, though, store information for multiple images and present them in sequence to create the illusion of animation.

Opening Warm-up AND/OR Activator (highlight one):
I know, I think I know, and I want to know
(Students use prior knowledge to make predictions about new learning)

Work Session:
·       Step 1 – Flip book creation (A flip book  is a book with a series of pictures that vary gradually from one page to the next, so that when the pages are turned rapidly, the pictures appear to animate by simulating motion or some other change.)
·       Step 2 – Animated GIF Demo
·       Step 3 – Animated GIF Practice
·       Step 4 – Storyboard for product animation
·       Step 5 – Create animated GIF
