Week of 8/26/13 to 8/30/13

MONDAY

Students are working on The Origins of Type and Typography. They will review careers in Graphic Design that are related to typesetting and copy editing. GDP students are finishing the 50th anniversary designs and beginning the screen printing project. 

TUESDAY

Graphic Design Students are creating a CD jewel case design. The following is a list of steps for the CD project:

1. Brainstorm for the name of the artist and album
2. Do thumbnail sketches
3. Do Comp sketches
4. Create front cover (be sure to use inches as the unit)
5. Create inside
6. Create back and sides
7. Put design together
8. Print design
9. Cut and fit into case
10. Prepare for display

GDP Students are working on ideas for T-shirt design.

WEDNESDAY

Students are working on the CD composite Project.  Adobe skills will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be covered. Students who are finished will go to the next project.

GDP Students are working on ideas for T-shirt desig, and they will prepare screens for use.

THURSDAY

Tonight is Open House.  PTSA meeting, Synergy Codes, and Selected perfomances.

Students are finishing / working on the CD composite project.  Adobe skills will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be covered. Students who are finished will go to the next project.

GDP Students are working on ideas for T-shirt design and beginning to coat the screens.

FRIDAY

Show your School Spirit at the PHS Fall sports Pep Rally!  Students are reviewing the Common assessment they took. This pre-test demonstrated what they already know about graphic design. Students are creating a powerpoint presentation on Typography. A rubric will be used to assess their powerpoint projects. GDP Students are working on ideas for T-shirt design and translating the ideas to the computer screen.
