Week of 10/28/13 to 11/01/13


MONDAY
Marketing projects include: the product, the ad campaign and a multi-media presentation. Each will be presented to the instructor for a grade. Text composition review, as text composition assessment will be given on Friday. CTAE Fantasy show signs are in production to be installed on Thursday 11/21/13. Selected Screen printing projects are ongoing as students / groups take their turns.


TUESDAY
CTAE Fantasy show signs are in production to be installed on Thursday 11/21/13. Other CTAE show assignments are ongoing in conjunction with the Fantasy theme. Students will work on both projects: Marketing and Cereal Box Project. Selected Screen printing projects are ongoing as students / groups take their turns.





WEDNESDAY
CTAE Fantasy Show judges cards, programs and certificates are designed. Other CTAE show assignments are ongoing in conjunction with the Fantasy theme. Students will work on both projects: Marketing and Cereal Box Project. Selected Screen printing projects are ongoing as students / groups take their turns.

THURSDAY
CTAE Fantasy Show judges cards, programs and certificates are printed and folded. Other CTAE show assignments are ongoing in conjunction with the Fantasy theme. Students will work on both projects: Marketing and Cereal Box Project. Selected Screen printing projects are ongoing as students / groups take their turns.. Students will work on both projects: Marketing and International Project. All Art History composites  must be mounted for display on black construction paper.

FRIDAY
Marketing and Cereal Box  assignments are ongoing. Students are completing activities of ethics and copyright as it pertains to the Graphic Design field. Key terms are identified. Other CTAE show assignments are ongoing in conjunction with the Fantasy theme. Students will work on both projects: Marketing and Cereal Box Project. Selected Screen printing projects are ongoing as students / groups take their turns. Clean-up of the room from the production of the CTAE Fantasy show is done, as needed.

Fantasy 2.0 Show Trailer

Week of 10/21/13 to 10/25/13

MONDAY
Graphic design standards activity will be completed. Screen coating will continue as needed, as the students coat screens for their project. Marketing and product / package design continues on the computer. Students may select an Adobe application program like Illustrator to complete the marketing for their original drink/product. GDP students begin marketing for an original cereal marketing project. Homecoming signs are in production.

Week of 10/14/13 to 10/18/13



MONDAY:
Students are working with Adobe Illustrator toward the business set and extended business set project. Students must print and create a display for their business. It is required that the there be a display title for the project and all of the specific documents must be identified by label.. This information will ensure that the student has completed all of the required documents. Adobe Illustrator skills will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be covered. Students who are finished will go to product / package design.

TUESDAY:

Students who are finished will go to product / package design. Common Assessment remediation will be included within the lesson activities.



WEDNESDAY:
Students will learn about the elements and principles of design. Students will be given several different reading and writing activities related to the elements and principles. In addition, students will have to answer questions regarding key terms and concepts of composition and design. Additional Adobe Illustrator skills pertaining to the business set project will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be covered. Fantasy 2.0 will be discussed as an enrichment opportunity for students who finish projects ahead of the deadlines.


THURSDAY:
Students are refining the business set project. In addition, typography is covered more in-depth, including rules, typefaces, and anatomy of type. Diagram assignment is given to students on typography. Additional Adobe Illustrator skills pertaining to the business set project will be covered will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be covered. Fantasy 2.0 will be planned as an enrichment opportunity for students who finish projects ahead of the deadlines.


FRIDAY:
Students are working on the display for business set. Adobe Illustrator skills pertaining to the business set project will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be covered. Students will reflect on a topic related to graphic design in writing. Common Assessment retest / make-up opportunity will be offered. Fantasy 2.0 will be completed as an enrichment opportunity for students who finish projects ahead of the deadlines. Student  CD projects are on display in the display case next to the main office. The extended business set's theme is on one of the following: Band, Daycare, Club, Restaurant, or Travel agency. The business set includes the following documents:

WEDNESDAY:
Students will learn how to use the elements in order to apply the principles. The art history composite is on going. The re-branding project and the Screen Printing projects are on going for the GDP classes.


THURSDAY:
Students will use graphic organizers to take notes on the elements and principles of design
These notes will be used to complete a summative assessment. Re-branding projects are
due, and students will present re-branding presentations to the instructor. Elements and Principles open notes test is Friday. GDP Students are coating screens and exposing screens. IGD Students are finishing the art history projects.

project is offered as enrichment for students to get the chance to do "live work" that is seen by an authentic audience.
