1-27-14 to 1-31-14



MONDAY:
GDP-Students will learn about trade customs and copyright laws. Vocabulary and key concepts will be covered including copyright infringement and ethics for the Graphic designer. IGD -students are covering safety and health. AGD-are working on "live work" and principles of screen  printing. Ongoing Projects include: CD, Business set, live work and T-shirt design.




TUESDAY:
IGD-Students are working on the CD; GDP- students are working on business specific sets  and AGD students are working on the T-shirt design projects. Students must note which techniques and styles they are using in their designs. It is required the design be displayed either in print. This information will be needed for the upcoming critique. Adobe Illustrator skills will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be covered. 


WEDNESDAY:
ALL-Students will learn more about the elements and principles of design.  This includes color theory and the psychology of color. The first common assessment will cover safety and typography. Several warm-ups and closing will be given to reinforce those concepts to help students prepare for assessments. 


THURSDAY:
IGD-Students are working on the CD; GDP- students are working on business specific sets  and AGD students are working on the T-shirt design projects. FRIDAY:
GDP-Students are working the snowman illustration to learn how to use  tools in Illustrator. In addition,the elements and principles are studied more in depth, including rules, color and composition. Additional Adobe Illustrator skills pertaining to the business set project will be covered will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be covered.IGD-Students are working on the CD and AGD students are working on the T-shirt design projects

Week of 1-21-14 to 1-24-14



TUESDAY
AGD-Collaborative groups will transfer sketches to the computer. Adobe illustrator will be used to create logo for HoopComing 2014. Logos will be judged, and the best will be made into banners. IGD will begin sketches for the CD jewel case design. GDP-will begin the business set project.

WEDNESDAY
Collaborative groups will continue to refine their designs. They will crititque each other in progress. IGD students will identify Photoshop toolsets and prepare for Adobe Skills training.
GDP-will sketch for the business set project.

THURSDAY
Collaborative groups will  continue to refine design and paint the banner. Illustrative techniques will be reviewed. IGD will continue Adobe skills training and continue to develop ideas for the CD project.GDP-will begin to design business set project.

 
FRIDAY
HoopComing Banner will be used for the pep-rally. IGD students will be assessed on the Photoshop tools. GDP-will refine designs for the business set project.

Week of 1/13/14 to 1/17/14

MONDAY:

Students in AGD class will create T-shirt design. IGD Students are working on the cd project. 
Students must print and create a display for their project. It is required that the there be a display  for the project. Adobe  skills will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be covered. Students who are finished will go to the next project.


TUESDAY:

Students in AGD class will create T-shirt design. IGD Students are working on the cd project.

WEDNESDAY:


Students will learn about the printing industry. Students will be given several different reading and writing activities related to typography. In addition, students will have to answer questions regarding key terms and concepts of typography. Additional Adobe  skills pertaining to the  projects will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be also covered.
Spring CTAE expo will be discussed as an enrichment opportunity for students who finish projects ahead of the deadlines.





THURSDAY:

Students are refining their projects. In addition, typography is covered more in-depth, including rules, typefaces, and anatomy of type. Diagram assignment is given to students on typography. Additional Adobe  skills  will be covered will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will also be covered. Spring CTAE expo will be planned as an enrichment opportunity for students who finish projects ahead of the deadlines.


FRIDAY:

Adobe  skills pertaining to the  project will be covered. Tips, tools and techniques will be covered. Students will reflect on a topic related to graphic design in writing. Safety Assessment will be given.  Spring CTAE expo will be completed as an enrichment opportunity for students who finish projects ahead of the deadlines. Student DVD and CD projects will be on display in the display case next to the main office.
