MONDAY:

AAVTC-GDP-7 Explore different outlets for typography and define its role in design.

 


  • Demonstrate knowledge of typographic principles relating to layout and page composition.
  • Key Ideas: Leading, Kerning, Alignment, and Spacing
  • Live Work: CTAE Salon show- create logo, flyers, posters, model IDs, judges cards and so on.
  • Typography project-design a graphic  by only using typestyles
TUESDAY:

AAVTC-GDP-7 Explore different outlets for typography and define its role in design.

Typography Unit Assessment Covering:

  • 5 basic fonts
  • Measurement and Alignment of Type
  • Anatomy of Letters
  • Lines, Serifs and Letterforms
  • Readability and Legibility
  • Proofreading

WEDNESDAY:
Typography Assignment Critique (Self-reflection and peer reflection)

THURSDAY:
Live Work: "Sounds of Attraction" CTAE expo for the fall

AAVTC-GDP-4 Understand and demonstrate the fundamental basic elements and principles of design.

FRIDAY:

AAVTC-GDP-4 Understand and demonstrate the fundamental basic elements and principles of design.

AAVTC-GDP-6 Explore color and the variety of methods in which it can be applied. Interpret and apply color models through graphic manipulations.


Students will interpret, explore, apply, and demonstrate color theory:
  • Hue
  • Saturation
  • Value
  • Chroma
  • Brightness
  • Psychology of Color
  • Applications and color modes
  • Color gamut
Formative assessments of the Elements of design will be given.
