Week of 10/29/12 to 11/02/12

MONDAY
Elements of design will be applied to various projects. Color and the color wheel theories will be applied in depth.  GDP students will create a "Spot" color for screen printed T-shirt. Marketing will also be introduced. CTAE Expo mini show signs are in production. IGD students will complete an advertisement for their product. Homecoming door decoration design will be offered as enrichment.

TUESDAY
Graphic design standards activity will be completed. Screen coating will continue as needed, as the students coat screens for their project. Marketing and product / package design continues on the computer. Students may select an Adobe application program like Illustrator to complete the marketing for their original drink/product. CTAE Expo mini show signs are in production. Homecoming door decoration design will be offered as enrichment.



WEDNESDAY
Marketing analysis and marketing plans are due on today. Screen coating will continue as needed, as the students coat screens for their project. GDP students begin to sketch for the cereal box project.  Marketing and product / package design continues on the computer. IGD Students may select an Adobe application program like Illustrator to complete the marketing for their original drink. CTAE Expo mini show signs are in production. Accelerated students can create more than one product. Struggling students will be given a template to aid with the creation of their product. Homecoming door decoration design will be installed.

THURSDAY

Week of October 22 to October 26, 2012

MONDAY
Elements of design will be reviewed. Color and the color wheel will be explored in depth. Students will identify: complimentary, analogous, monochromatic color schemes. Neutrals, tints, tones and shades will be defined.  The psychology of color will be discussed with some detail. GDP students will explore the concept of "Spot" color for screen printing. Screen coating will also be introduced. CTAE Expo mini show signs are in production. IGD students will complete a market analysis for their product.

Elements of design quiz on Wednesday. Screen coating will continue as needed, as the students coat screens for their project. All animation projects will be presented to the instructor for a grade. Marketing and product / package design continues on the computer. Students may select an Adobe application program like Illustrator to complete the marketing for their original drink. CTAE Expo mini show signs are in production.

The AD must contain an original photo of the product.  IGD Students may select an Adobe application program like Illustrator to complete the marketing for their original drink. CTAE Expo mini show signs are in production. Accelerated students can create more than one product. Struggling students will be given a template to aid with the creation of their product.

Week of 10-15-12 to 10-19-12



MONDAY:
Students have to create an animation presentation for their flip book. They have the option to use an original character or they can use a composite of parts from the internet. The animation must include at least 30 cells or slides. Students will present animation to the instructor for a grade. Elements and Principles of Design will be identified. GDP Students will begin screen printing project. CTAE Expo mini show signs are in production.


 TUESDAY:
Students will continue animation project. Other forms of  animation will be explained. Students will translate ideas from storyboard and flip-book to the computer. Elements and principles of Design will be reviewed, as students have an activity using vocabulary. CTAE Expo preparation is ongoing. GDP Students are preparing for screen printing project, including preparing the screens and registering their designs.

CTAE Expo preparation is ongoing. Homecoming door design will be offered to students as enrichment. GDP students will continue to expose their designs. All animations are due and will be presented. Students may opt to create additional animations for enrichment. Students will have a self reflection writing activity on their animation.

Week of 10/08/12 to 10/12/12


MONDAY:
Students have to create a multi media presentation for their business set and extended business set. They have the option to use a slide presentation software like Microsoft PowerPoint & Apple Keynote, or they can use a Web 2.0 application like Presi. The presentation must include all of the required documents. Students will present and "pitch" their business set to the instructor for a grade.  This was supposed to take place last week, but our server was offline. The following checklist will be used:

Content

The information I displayed was interesting or important to others.
I was well informed about the topic.
I included reliable, factual information.
I added supportive detail to the main point(s).
I utilized my prior projects to build on my design skills.

Organization

I organized ideas in a logical way.
The information and design/details were easy to understand.
